ROOT CANALS

Don’t let old-wives’ tales about painful root canals stop you from seeing the dentist. The truth is that root canals are not painful; the agony you’ve heard about comes from the infected, untreated tooth.

For various reasons, the inside of a tooth (called the pulp), may become infected. When decay spreads to the tooth’s pulp, removal of the pulp becomes necessary to salvage the healthy exterior of the tooth. Once the pulp has been completely removed, the tooth is filled with a rubber-like substance. Then we apply a crown or filling to the newly-restored tooth for extra protection.

WISDOM TEETH EXTRACTIONS

It is very common in young adulthood to have wisdom teeth develop. In some cases, these extra teeth can erupt improperly. This may may cause pain and crowding of your existing teeth. Dr. LeBlanc can evaluate and discuss potential issues that may be caused by your wisdom teeth.  It some cases it may not be necessary for you to get your wisdom teeth removed especially if they are not causing any pain and are properly positioned in your mouth.
